This has been verified by comparing it to [production material](https://slow.pics/c/m3XePLBc) shared by the director, and can also be seen in [video histograms](https://slow.pics/c/oDuQjwER). This new grading seems to be a result of range expansion and is strongly red-tinted throughout. The newer master also appears to have extra haloing not present on the Sony disc. Unfortunately, the 4K remaster from GKIDS looks plainly bad. It's a result of destructive filtering applied to the new master (especially pronounced when comparing [the 4K disc](https://slow.pics/c/uGtmuPhY)), only adding to its issues, with all lineart turning out smeary and noisy. Sony is an English localized master, though all this amounts to is credits and a few signs. GKIDS is bilingual, all other releases are in Japanese. Given that it is common for home releases to forget to adjust theatrical levels to home video, I would wager that GKIDS is correct, but I have nothing to back this up. English audio is superior on the GKIDS disc, as Sony only had a lossy track, while All the Anime used the same lossy track transcoded to DTS-HD. The same surround levels difference applies here. Preferred GKIDS as they've edited a couple of lines that didn't make sense with the Japanese audio. Removed on-screen translations as Sony uses an English localized master. Adjusted timing (gaps, snapped to keyframes), removed on-screen translations as Sony uses an English localized master. Included a stylized ASS version, plain SRT, and PGS with color changed from yellow to white. No forced/signs track was included here, as the Sony US disc did not include one. The GKIDS disc included a forced track for Japanese end credits, which was not needed with Sony's English master.
